In May 2021, the creators announced the release of “Pushpa” in two parts, with the second installment scheduled for 2022. However, following the success of “KGF: Chapter 2” and rumors of similar storylines, director Sukumar decided to rewrite and reshoot the entire second part to offer a distinctive experience to the audience. Sukumar clarified that the stories were different, aiming to meet the audience’s expectations and rectify any misconceptions. The title “Pushpa 2: The Rule” was unveiled at the conclusion of the first part, and the second part was formally inaugurated with a traditional pooja ceremony in Hyderabad in August 2022.
Filming:
While a few scenes of “Pushpa 2” were previously shot before the release of the first part, Sukumar modified the storyline and opted to reshoot the entire film. Principal photography commenced in October 2022.
Release:
“Pushpa 2: The Rule” is set to hit theaters on August 14, 2024, with a multilingual release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. Fans can anticipate a riveting continuation of the Pushpa saga, promising a unique and captivating cinematic experience.
